Our Fearless
Leader is a man of many talents which of course includes
running a very successful horse rescue for the past fifteen
years, but he also keeps the facilities in tip-top shape,
manages our volunteer recruitment AND he also writes from
time to time.

'In
memory of
Gordon Walker'
|
We are extremely blessed to be supported by a wide circle of friends.
A very generous donation was received from one of those
friends, Charles Edward Walker on behalf of his son, Gordon Walker. Gordon passed away last year
and his last wish was that animal welfare be supported
and horses were at the top of the list. Mr. Walker
visited several rescues and other organizations and
chose us to be the recipient of Gordon's support in the
form of a donation. Gordon's full story can be
seen
here
.
We were so touched by this story that we wanted to find
out more about Gordon. We contacted
Southlands
Heritage Farms
where Gordon spent the last fifteen
years, every weekday morning at the barn at 6:30am
sharp, and Jennifer Maynard was kind enough to share
this with us with Charles Walkers' blessing.

I
came to Circle F Horse Rescue in January 2012. It was a
rather circuitous route that led me to work with the
horses.

George

was
somewhat of a folk icon some years back. He was constantly
getting into some predicament or another and I wrote
constantly about his adventures. Some were just downright silly,
while others thoroughly bizarre.

Twitter
Follower Sponsorship
May
2012
|
We
have now been on this social networking site for almost one year
and
have 435 followers and
The
Winchester Family Business
, a Supernatural Fan
Site, have pledged their on-going sponsorship of our rescue as
one of their supported charities. There are several sites involved with the
Supernatural Fandom and the total followers reach an extremely
large audience worldwide. This gives us much increased exposure
and we are very grateful. Thank you from all our volunteers and
of course, the horses.
