Circle
F needs you!
I
n
addition to all the hands on work necessary to care for our
horses, our dedicated volunteers are busy throughout the year
raising the funds necessary to care for our herd. Many of
the horses that come to us have substantial and costly medical
needs.
L
ast
year, in order to supplement our increasing medical and feed
bills, we organized Circle F’s 1st Poker Ride .. a
fun filled afternoon where people from all over BC came to
Campbell Valley Regional Park to support our rescue. Each
participant paid $25 for a Poker
hand
. Some people trailored
in their horses, others rented horses from our sponsored barns,
while some chose to walk the trails. Participants stopped at 5
locations throughout the park picking up one card at each
station and the person with the best
hand of poker won $1000.
The
Poker Ride was an integral component of our fundraising
campaign. We were hoping to make the Poker Ride an annual
event, but our need for a title sponsor has put our planning on
hold. We desperately need someone to come forward who is willing
to make a $1000 donation. Not only will this person or company
receive a full tax receipt but they will also hold the title of
the event and have the opportunity to fully incorporate their
company in the Poker Ride. If you would like to make a
donation, please contact
Walter Paetkau at
[email protected]
– thank you.

Spring Barn Cleaning
"Volunteers
do not necessarily have the time; they just have the
heart."
~ Elizabeth Andrew
It
is a very heartwarming experience to be a part of this admirable
team of volunteers at Circle F. It never ceases to amaze
me what a phenomenal group of people we have & our e-mail newsletter is dedicated to
showcasing them.

Circle
F-riends
Several
years ago Louise Goldsmith, now 98, sent
a modest donation to Circle F and Walter
responded with a thank you card that sa
id a
bit about our horses. Louise
has remained in contact since. Walter
sends
her a note on one of
our
‘horse’ cards & she sends her donation
in one of
her
hand painted ‘horse’
cards. With
her
Dec.
donation, she said she would
send more in the Spring which she did. In the
envelope was a copy of a news
article
& a set of her hand painted ‘cards’ that she had on display at her
students’ annual Art Exhibit. Louise resides at Wellington
Terrace, Fergus, Ont. where she is an
active volunteer leader inspiring many.
Since
her youth, she has always
been interested in horses & likes what
Circle F is doing; we are honoured to have
her as a donor.
