My
close friend Robyn knew how much I loved to
spend time with horses and knew that one day I
hoped for a horse of my own, so she told me
about Circle F. I called about volunteering and
met with Walter back in the summer of 2004.
At that time, we were on Lefevur Road and
the rescue was nothing like it is now! We had to
walk down about ½ mile from the road, there
were no lights, no outhouse and we had big tent
cover for the feed area/barn and for our hay
& storage. There was no riding arena or
round pen, the horses where basically in a big
field with trees. Walter had made a beautiful
covered feeding area for the horses, but boy was
it muddy when it rained.
I
didn’t
care, I was with horses and I loved every bit of
it. Even when it was cold and miserable with
rain, because they needed me and I needed them.

My
Favourite Horse - By

I
came to Circle F one year ago with limited
equine knowledge having worked at the racetrack
with horses that were basically kept in stalls
for most of the day and I can say working among
a herd of horses that are free to roam about, is
an environment I love. Respectful of their
intelligence and strength, I enjoy working and
learning with them.
