A Special Thank You

Once again Cavallo has come to our horses' Rescue! The hard terrain and footing at the facility we rent often causes some of our horses to be tender-soled.
Cavallo Horse and Rider -
www.cavallo-inc.co
- has generously supported our horses comfort beginning back in 2011 by donating a number of pairs of simple boots.
Now, once again in 2017, we received a tremendous gift of multiple pairs of Cavallo's Sport, Trek and Simple boots in a variety of sizes, so that any and all of our
rescued horses can step out enthusiastically in their journey towards a new home. Thank You Cavallo for helping horses around the world, and for continuing to assist us by making
sure our Circle F horses have Happy Feet !

Our horses and volunteers have benefited greatly from the help of Tabatha Hepworth of New Foundation Natural Horsemanship
www.nfnh-now.com
Over the years Tabby has shared her extensive training skills with us to help us become more adept, confident and effective horse handlers.
On January 21, 2017 we took a couple of our horses to her new facility, and together with five of her horses, we participated in a very interactive,
fun, and highly informational hands-on clinic. Everyone achieved a deeper understanding of horse communication, and we all left with an eager enthusiasm
to practice our new approaches. Thank you so much Tabby for always being there for Circle F and our herd members. Photos of the clinic can be seen

The 2016 Poker Ride & Walk was resounding success, thanks once again to our donors and supporters!
This year, our title sponsor asked to remain anonymous, which we will honour.
Gold sponsor this year was our own Karen Madsen from the Wednesday volunteer shift!
Joining Karen in sponsorship was her husband, Randy Sure, who opted for the Silver level.
Our president and treasurer, Brian Teed of Teed & Company, GCA, filled out the roster at the Bronze level.
We also would like to recognize our second & third place prize donations. Second prize was graciously donated by Rheal Desmarais with his donation of an Android TV box. Many of you will also know Rheal as the master chef behind the awesome BC Smokies cart at the park both this year and last!
Third prize was a gorgeous original print donated by Sandy Dimond of Langley. Sandy has also donated another of her original works which will be raffled at The Mane Event.
Many thanks to the numerous other folks who donated the silent auction items. Without your support, we would not be able to do what we do for the horses at Circle F!

Hi Everyone ~
The horses at Circle F are once again indebted to all those who stepped forward to help during a tenuous time for the rescue! Thanks to your efforts,
Circle F is “back in the black” so to speak. It is at once both heart-warming and humbling to witness such devotion and consideration.
Many thanks to all the donors who pitched in with their financial support, and our volunteers and friends who offered gifts in kind, donated services, ideas and physical
assistance in every way they could. We also had an amazing run of adoptions this past few weeks: four horses adopted out all within a month! This both provided us with
extra money and eased the demand for resources at the rescue. However, as always, we already have more horses waiting to come in!
We have some exciting upcoming events!
From 4pm until 8pm on Friday August 19th, we are holding a Pub Night at Finnegan’s in Abbotsford. We’d love to see everyone join us for a wonderful dinner, time to meet and greet,
and win some fantastic prizes. We are also in need of items for the silent auction; anything at all, from gift certificates, artwork, jewellery, new household items, gift baskets … you name it!
Our annual Poker Ride & Walk is slated for September 24th at Campbell Valley Park in Langley. Once again, we’ll all be hitting the trail for a chance to win the $1000 first prize and to
help raise both money and awareness for the horses that we all love so much. We hope to see a record turnout this year! We will need prizes and silent auction items for the Poker Ride
as well as extra volunteers to help staff the stations and registration tables as well as perform other duties.
Circle F will once again have a presence at The Mane Event at Chilliwack Heritage Park this year. The TME will be held from October 21st until the 23rd and we are looking for help at the booth.
The shifts are four to six hours, and we will supply free admission for those who volunteer the day(s).
Warm regards and wishes to everyone, and a sincere thank you from all the horses at Circle F!
Thanks so much,
on behalf of the Circle F Board of Directors, and Kevan Garecki, Operations Manager

Dave Paton has been my personal friend and “go to” for most veterinary queries for many years, so it was little surprise to
me when I stepped in as manager to learn of his support for Circle F. I knew from my years of knowing Dave that he was just
that sort of fellow. Dave and his team at
Paton and Martin's Veterinary Clinic
have offered invaluable support to Circle F,
in the form of precious knowledge, emergency assistance and economic alternatives to many issues as well as substantial cost
breaks along the way! To further endorse his support, Dave announced last year that he would make a donation in the form of
a rebate of at least 10% for our aggregate billing for each year. Early in September we received from Paton & Martin’s a
cheque for $1,000, which I suggested be used towards securing the title of sponsor for our annual poker ride. In his typically
modest fashion, Dave agreed, and thus has indicated their ongoing support for the coming year.
In recognition for their generosity and unwavering support on behalf of the board of directors, volunteers and administrative
personnel at Circle F, I extend heartfelt thanks to Dave Paton, Eric Martin and the entire team at Paton & Martin Veterinary
Clinic! We could not have done what we have without support such as yours! We look forward to continuing our relationship
for many years to come!

Ainsley Beauchamp
has gifted us with her time and amazing healing hands to help our
rescue horses ! She has been out numerous times in 2015 to work with our herd, and the results are dramatic. Some of
our horses may never in their lifetime had body work, and they soon realize how very soothing, relaxing and caring Ainsley
is and how she takes the time to develop a rapport of trust with them. We have seen some real improvement in their behavior,
movement and energy after a session with Ainsley. Thank you so much Ainsley for helping our herd feel better,
you are a true healer.

Circle F Horse Rescue would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Leah Taylor of Clever Riding
www.cleverriding.com
for presenting an informative
and very well delivered 3 part Clinic Series in September and October. Thanks to the participation of the
volunteers and everyone else who attended, the clinics raised over $700 for the horses at Circle F!
Leah's clinics opened up an entirely new dimension in communications between ourselves and our horses,
guiding us to help them strengthen and heal; and she has helped us to foster a higher level of understanding
and trust. We were also empowered to hone our own senses to be in tune with these magnificent equine mentors.
We owe a debt of gratitude and appreciation to Leah and her amazing students, and to Debbie and Rudy Enns, who
shared their beautiful property with us. The warmth of your friendship and giving shall benefit all of the
horses that come through our gates!

Percheron wagon team with a couple of our present adoptable horses and some of our former horses.
It was an amazing event and everyone had a lot of fun, including the horses. Please have a look

The Tack Sale was a resounding success, due in no small part to one of our newest volunteers and conditioning team members, Nicole Hofbauer! Nicole garnered a wonderfully generous
donation from her employer, Royal Bank of Canada, in the amount of $1,000! In addition, she arranged to have six volunteers from RBC join us to help set up tables, run the checkout table, cook, and help pack up at the end of the sale.
We raised a little over $600 from the sale itself, along with the RBC donation bringing the grand total to more than $1,600!ll the tickets. We cannot do what we do without your
support. We hope to make this an annual event – see you next year!
Circle F would like to sincerely thank RBC for their generosity and a special thank you to Nicole for her gracious efforts on behalf of the rescue!

July 2014 - Last year Jade raised money in lieu of gifts for her 7th birthday and donated it to us. Jade was so moved by the
experience that she has been raising funds ever since. She and her grandmother made a quilt with horses on it and raffled it off
at a family event over Christmas. She has also collected toonies and loonies and again asked her friends for donations on her
birthday this year. Her younger brother, Jericho, also helped to raise a portion of the donation. They spent some quality
time with our horses and are shown in the photos here with Baby and Mandy.
We would like to extend a very special thanks to Jade and her brother Jericho from all of us at Circle F!

A big thanks to everyone who donated items for this event. We would also like to thank everyone who stopped by & thanks

Maddy and Claire make to our rescue in January. We are honoured to have such special visitors.

A big thanks to Mikayla, our young volunteer who has grown up along with Circle F for a number of years now, for having
her Tenth Birthday celebration with our herd. Instead of gifts for herself, she asked all her friends to make a
donation to the rescue to support the horses. The young ladies enjoyed sharing time at the rescue with Mikayla on her
birthday, September 22. They each picked a favorite horse on which they lavished much love and attention, and
finished up with a pony ride on Lil Red. We are so very thankful to have such wonderful volunteers who make Circle F
more than just an organization, and bring to mind Aristotle's words; The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

We want to thank little Lauren Draper who celebrated her 7th Birthday on April 21st, 2012 for her young and generous heart.

Her wonderful family, and grandparents, Jackie and Don Forrester, who are long time dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers at the rescue, hosted a Horse Theme Birthday
party, which was attended by many children, other family members and friends of the family. Lauren and her family had a fabulous time coming to the rescue to present

Kevan Garecki at
H4 Services Ltd.
has always been there for our
rescue throughout the years. His extensive experience, calm and easy patience, and ability to understand horses
and the needs of each one is invaluable to us. Kevan has been able to haul the most timid and petrified horses
to and from our rescue and they always come off the trailer with calm confidence, having gained new and positive
skills. We can't thank Kevan enough for all the help he so readily offers us, and he is our #1 recommended
horse transporter!

a magical evening which we will never forget. Truly Inspiring and a most wonderful gift to us. Thank you so much !

irritating materials. The grants came from a special fund, The Mary Victoria Wakefield Animal Welfare Fund.

The generous folks at Cavallo Horse and Rider Inc.
www.cavallo-inc.com
donated three sets of their wonderful Simple Boots to our rescue. Now we can take our rescue
horses out on the trails with their comfort ensured. This not only makes them more adoptable, but also gives them
enjoyment while they are awaiting a new family. A big Thank You to the terrific and very giving people at Cavallo
for helping our horses and making such a fantastic product!
