He is a very easy keeper, and healthy, but does require more conditioning to get back in shape as he has not been used much in the last three years. He also has thin soles so would require shoes on the fronts or boots for riding. His ground manners are impeccable, and he gets along well with the herd. Potential Paths: Sonny was previously used for cattle penning, roping and as a pleasure ride western mount, and so has some very good training. He is very calm and easy going, works well for neck reining and leg aids, and on a loose rein. He enjoys the trails and is quiet and calm for a beginner, but still has enough pep and energy for an advanced rider.
